Nina Danino & Mark Dean: Reflections on six years of Religion & Art, with reference to Hillel the Elder’s three questions: If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?
Elena Botts, Lucille Brownrigg & aly,willamina cutler-gear:
i. counter-ontologies, imaginaries and futurisms of spiritual automata,drawing on each of our arts and research practices, we address this schema ii. counterontological to power deconstructively creates futurisms through reimagining each:
a) counterpublics and their lifeworlds through community arts, cultural, and religious organising e.g. elena’s research on politics of cultural policies on arts communities and remembrance which also includes
b) memory practices which affect the future worlds we create by how we remember
c) wellbeing, being-in-the-world e,g, biopolitics, especially lu’s research on medical trauma
d) linguistic imperialism e.g. aly’s research on imperialism’s effect on marginalised languages and ways of life in shetland
e) machinic subversion e.g. aly’s research using llms despite their corporate programming to revive languages and speech, lu’s research on automata.

Our love relation with the mystics - Dialogisim: Sisterhood/Fanhood - Affectivity and academic research - Being the third person in the room in the love affair between these women and their Beloved - the question of appropriation, mediation and historical presentism; how can we relate today with the mystics of the past?

Research/practice linked to personal experience and the autobiographical artistic practice. The questions of mothering, suffering and birth, creating and decreation, the Eucharist, the broken body and Marian iconography; creativity and the mystery of Incarnation, what does it mean to be a creator? What is incarnation?
